Margaret "Peggy" Ann Dalton, age 88, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Agrace Hospice. She was born on September 17, 1937, to Emmett and Una (Krouse) Moore in Richland Center, Wisconsin. Peggy married John "Jack" Dalton on August 1, 1959, at St. James Catholic Church in Madison, WI.

Peggy attended St. James Elementary School and graduated from Edgewood High School before continuing her education at St. Mary’s College, where she trained to become an X-ray technician. She went on to dedicate more than 40 years of her life working as an X-ray technologist.

Peggy was a natural entertainer who loved making everyone around her happy. Known fondly as “the hostess with the mostest,” she delighted in bringing people together and creating warm, joyful gatherings. She loved shopping and decorating, always adding her special touch to every celebration and holiday. Peggy also enjoyed playing all kinds of games — from card games to dice — and she was always ready with her bags of dimes.

After the death of Jack, Peggy met Lloyd in 1988, and they remained devoted to one another until his passing in 2018. Together they shared many happy years filled with laughter and adventure. As snowbirds, they spent their winters in warmer climates and loved traveling the world, visiting places such as Jamacia, Mexico, much of Europe, including Ireland and many other memorable destinations.

Peggy is survived by her children, Mike (Theresa "Tess") Dalton, Janan Searles; grandchildren, Ryan (Brooke) Dalton, Kelly (Christopher) Malek, Jack Searles, Mason Searles; great grandchildren, Ronan (Malek), Rory (Malek), Beverly Dalton; loving brother, Richard "Dick" Moore, and many, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack Dalton, devoted partner, Lloyd Stein; brothers, Thomas (Maureen) Moore; and Robert Moore.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses of 3 West at St. Mary's Hospital and Agrace Hospice for their compassionate care and kindness.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 12:00 P.M. on March 10, 2026, at St. Peter Catholic Church, 5001 N. Sherman Ave., Madison, WI. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at church. Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Peggy’s honor.
