Gerald Pauli

Gerald “Gerry” Wayne Pauli, age 91, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at St. Mary’s Hospital.  He was born on December 23, 1934, in Madison, the son of Edwin and Mildred (Domini) Pauli.

Gerry served 6 years in the United States Army, as a Sergeant in the 5th Signal Corps, taking aerial photography.

Gerry was united in marriage to Jean Manthe on October 16, 1976.  He worked at the State of Wisconsin - Department of Transportation, Engineering Services and Highway Traffic.  Retiring in 1997 after 44 years of service.

Gerry was an avid Badger sports fan, attending many football, basketball and hockey games.  He was a member of the Mendota Gridiron Club.

He is survived by his wife, Jean; his 7 children: Dan (Eileen) Pauli, Debi Pauli, David (Dorothy) Pauli, Dennis (Mary) Pauli, Scott Pauli, Jamie (Robyn) Pauli and Kimberly (Aaron) Shaurette; 13 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and sister, Cindy Pauli Semenic.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Pamela Anderson and grandson, Tyler Pauli.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, W6906 County Road K, Arlington, with Reverend Jacob Scott officiating.  Visitation will he held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the church.  Interment will be at Zion Cemetery, followed by a lunch at the church

Memorials may be made to Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Orest Kostelyna for the exceptional care he gave Gerry throughout the years.
