Obituary

Ann Margaret Anderson, 79, was set free from Alzheimer’s grip on March 11, 2026.

Ann was born on September 29, 1946 to Donald and Anita Adler in Middleton. She graduated from Middleton High School in 1964. After being partnered in their sibling’s wedding, the love of her life, Jack Anderson proposed and they were wed in Middleton on November 12, 1966. Before long they had two children, Timothy and Kimberly. Ann and Jack built their life on the “Far West” side on Junction Road.

Ann and her family enjoyed many camping trips, fishing trips and true Wisconsin Friday night fish fries. Everything circled around family and game nights. Countless games of Rummy 500, poker and Euchre were played but, much to Jack’s dismay, she refused to learn how to play cribbage.

Ann worked for JC Penny for over 35 years. She retired to enjoy her gardening and to bake her legendary frosted brownies, cookies and bread. There may have been a casino run (too many to count) that took Ann and Jack around the state and country.

She accurately predicted the gender of all her grandchildren. When asked about it, she said, “it’s what Grandma ordered.” Ann loved attending baseball and football games, choir concerts and plays that her grandchildren were a part of. The grandkids loved their time doing sleepovers and all the fun things she would let them do. And of course, the calls would come “Grandma I need (insert whatever type of shoe or outfit or sporting item here)” and she would say let’s go! Seldom would the kids return only with that item but a bag of stuff. As much as we tried, she would never allow us to repay her for their shopping, which was usually after we had told them no. “It was Grandma’s treat” is all she would say.

Sadly, Ann joined a long list of relatives to develop Alzheimer’s disease. She lived her final years with grace, love and care at St. Mary’s Care and Rehab Center.

Ann is survived by her son, Timothy (Patti); daughter, Kimberly (Jason) Neumaier; grandchildren, Brandon and Tyler Anderson, Allison Hall and Jacob Adler; sister, Jane (Matt) Swartout; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; as well as her brothers and their spouses: William and Lavonne Adler, Bob and Becky Adler.

The family will hold a private memorial service.
