Obituary

Madison –

Jane Elizabeth Cascio, age 83, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at St. Mary’s Hospital.  Jane was born on November 9, 1942, in Madison, the daughter of Charles and Bernadetta (Schlimgen) Johnson.

Jane was a very social and happy person, with a beautiful smile.  She loved spending time with family, especially hosting Sunday evening spaghetti and meatball dinners.  She also enjoyed playing games including, Euchre, Pinnacle, Cribbage and Scrabble.  Jane also loved crocheting, puzzles, collecting angels and bells, going to wine tastings and a good margarita.  Her favorite dessert was tiramisu. 

She is survived by her daughters, Catherine Skoien, Cynthia (David) Scothorn and Christina Cascio (Teniente); son, Charles “Chuck” Cascio; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; sister, Elizabeth “Betty Lou” (Charles) Hamilton; and nieces, Michelle (Tom) Haupt and Charlene Solomon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony; daughter, Mary Theresa; her parents, Charles and Bernadetta Johnson; and sister, Marion Johnson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2026, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2438 Atwood Avenue, with Father Michael Radowicz officiating.  Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Mass on Friday at the church.  Interment will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Oak Park Rehab and St. Mary’s Hospital, for their loving care.

She is loved and will be remembered FOREVER.
