Virginia Olson

SUN PRAIRIE - Olson, Virginia Leola (nee Affeldt) age 84, went home to Heaven on March 23, 2026, at Meriter Hospital in Madison, WI, where she received kind and loving care.

Ginny was born on October 12, 1941, in Milwaukee, WI. She was baptized and confirmed at Atonement Lutheran in Milwaukee, WI, and graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran High School in 1959.

Ginny met Larry Olson while both working at Wisconsin Telephone Company and on June 13, 1964, she married Larry at Atonement Lutheran. Ginny raised her family in the Sussex and Menomonee Falls area. For 25+ years she worked for the Sussex, Hamilton School District in payroll administration. She loved volunteering in various roles at St. John’s Lannon church and school. Ginny also enjoyed spending time at their cabin in Eagle River with her grandchildren and family. She was an example of love. For her Savior and her family.

Virginia is survived by her husband of 61 years, Larry and her children David (Jennifer) and Lori; grandchildren, Matthew and Benjamin; brother, Ron (Dianne) Affeldt; and sister, Marilyn Affeldt. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Ginny is preceded in death by her parents Waldemar and Leola Affeldt; parents-in-law, Jens and Dorothy Olson; brother-in-law, Roger Olson; and sister-in-law, Carol Davidson.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Lord of Love Lutheran Church, 105 Paradise Circle, DeForest. A visitation will be held from 10:00AM until time of service at the church on Saturday. Burial at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Leeds Township.
