Thomas Tormey

MADISON – Thomas William Tormey III, age 83, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026. Tom was born on August 12, 1942, in Green Bay, WI to Dr. Thomas W. Tormey Jr. and Marie Emma (Donovan). He attended Marmion Military Academy in Aurora, IL in 1960. After graduating, Tom joined the Marine Corp. He also attended La Crosse University. He married Beverly Clements on July 8, 1967, at St. Joseph the Workman in La Crosse, WI. Tom worked at Madison Gas & Electric for 25 years as a meter reader. He enjoyed antiquing and being a life-long learner.

Tom is survived by his wife of 58 years, Bev; children, Michael, Christine (Paul) Pietruszka, Matthew, and Andrew (Christine) Wiers; grandchildren, Hannah, Grace, Quinn, Angus, Tessa, Claire, Emma and Max; brothers, William C. (Jane) and Anthony D. (Kathy) of Denver, CO. He is preceded in death by his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00PM, on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at St. Peter Catholic Church, 5001 N. Sherman Ave, Madison. A visitation will be held from NOON until time of Mass at the church on Wednesday.
