Loren Farris

Loren Harold James Farris, age 73, of Marshall, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Sienna Crest in Marshall.  He was born on August 15, 1952, in Madison, the son of Marion and Katherine (Lasse) Farris.  Loren graduated from Madison East High School in 1970.  He was united in marriage to Patricia Ann Dunn on August 14, 1977, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Madison.  Loren worked for many years as a custodian for the University of Wisconsin as well as St. Stephen’s Church in Monona.

Loren was a collector of memorabilia from the original Star Trek.  He was also a music lover, especially The Beatles and Pink Floyd.  Loren enjoyed painting, ice skating, roller skating, fishing and watching WWE professional wrestling.  Spending time with family and friends was very important to him.  One of Loren’s cherished memories was his trip to Jamaica with his late brother, Keith.

He is survived by his daughters, Stacey (Doug) Schulz-Hammen and Jamie (Benito) Mancha-Martinez; grandchildren, Tristan, Aaron, Tyler, Serenity, Chay, Austin, Destiny, and Vesper/Gavin; great-grandchildren, Azalea, Hoyt, Violet and Odin; siblings, Sheila Anderson, Melody (Mike) Schmitt, Kevin Farris and Lorraine Holt; sister-in-law, Julie Farris; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; his parents; granddaughter, Zia; great-granddaughter, Evangeline; brother Keith Farris and nephew, Jason McCarthy.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Ryan Funeral Home, 2418 N. Sherman Avenue.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
