Frances Haas

Frances C. Haas, age 94, passed away on April 22nd, 2026, at St. Mary's Care Center in Madison, WI. She was born on August 13, 1931, in Sauk City, WI to William V. and Saraphine S. (Schoepp) Meicher. Frances married Herbert Haas on February 12, 1952, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Sauk City.

Frances worked at the Red Cross for 11 years, and then Fran and Herb purchased Pal Mar Painting and went into the painting business, which their son, Brian, now owns and operates. Frances enjoyed needlepoint, crocheting, and reading. She was a member of Holy Mother of Consolation Catholic Church in Oregon, WI, where she was president of the Ladies Club of HMC for a time, volunteered for funerals, and taught catechism. Frances was a "family first" woman and will always be remembered as a dedicated wife and wonderful mother.

Frances is survived by her son, Brian (Pam Stace) Haas of Argyle; brother-in-law, Roman (Charlotte) Haas of Roxbury; sister-in-law, Nancy Coffey of Prairie du Sac; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert; parents, William and Saraphine Meicher; siblings and in-laws, Vincent (Tootsie) Meicher, Jerome (Betty) Meicher, Lorraine (Don) Jackson, Serene France, Wilfred (Vivian) Meicher, Clarence (Gladys) Meicher, Joseph W. Meicher, William (Francine) Meicher, Joseph L. (Pat) Meicher, Robert Meicher, Donald (Arlene) Ducharme, Leroy (Dorothy) Fuchs, Victor Haas, Lawrence (Betty) Haas, and Louis (Joan) Sansone.

The family is grateful to St. Mary's Hospital, Charter Senior Living of Verona, St. Mary's Care and Rehab Center of Madison, and Brighton Hospice.

At Frances' wishes, there will be no gathering. Frances will be buried at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Oregon.
