Obituary
Julian Jimenez Tijerina, age 84, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2026, at Greenway Manor in Spring Green, Wisconsin. He was born on October 27, 1941, to Eloisa (Jimenez) Rodriguez in San Antonio, Texas.
After graduating high school Julian enlisted in the Marine Corps and served honorably for four years. Julian found his home in Wisconsin where he built a career working for the City of Madison. Along the way Julian had two daughters, married his life partner Mary, and enjoyed the company of his mother, siblings, nieces and nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and countless other family and friends, never without a dog by his side.
Throughout his life Julian often spent time pitching horseshoes and winning tournaments. He was an avid outdoorsman, never missing an opportunity to bag a buck, tag a turkey, hook a fish, tend his garden, or simply enjoy the outdoors.
Julian could be described as genuine, wise, dependable, kind, and the owner of the most contagious laugh. He will be greatly missed.
Julian is survived by daughter, Cheryl (Abel) Arce; grandchildren, Stephanie Rodriguez, Jesse Tijerina, Augustine Castillo III, Christopher (Alexandrah) Castillo, Alex (Vanessa) Arce, Priscilla (Chris) Guerra, Adam Arce; siblings; Carmen (Phil) Ditsch, Diane Rodriguez, Margie(Romulo) Flores, Mike Rodriguez; several great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Julian is preceded in death by his mother; Eloisa Jimenez, daughter; Patsy Tijerina, siblings; Valentine Rodriguez, Maria (Ron) Benisch, Robert Rodriguez, David (Rita) Rodriguez.
A Celebration of Julian’s Life will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Ryan Funeral Home, 2418 N Sherman Ave, Madison, Wisconsin. A visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of service at the Funeral Home.
