William Woods

On the morning of April 30, 2026, William "Bill" Craig Woods passed away in Verona, WI. Bill was born in Milwaukee, WI to Dr. William C. Woods and Esther (Glaser) Woods on November 5, 1947. Bill is survived by his two daughters, Sarah Beth Woods and Rebecca Michelle Woods and his grandson Beau Robert Kuchenbecker. He is survived by seven siblings and their spouses: Barbara and John Olsen, Tom and Lona Woods, Dr. John and Sharon Woods, Pat and Greg Peyer, Kevin and Cyndy Woods, Deb and Paul Pienkowski and Lisa and Dave Schabel. Bill was predeceased by his parents and a still born sibling.

Bill graduated from St. Norbert College in 1969 with a Bachelors of Business Administration. He was great with numbers! Bill went on to work as a bank examiner for the state of WI and then worked for MGIC (Milwaukee). He culminated his career as Sr. Vice President of Directors and Officers Liability Division at Great American Insurance Company (Schaumburg). He often looked back on his college days with fondness, recalling selling beer at Lambeau Field and hearing many Lombardi speeches on campus. 

Bill volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and was a mentor for DuPage PADS. In his free time, you could find Bill reading, spending time outdoors and attending live concerts in the park. Bill had a peaceful nature; he will be remembered as kind with a good sense of humor, intelligent and a lover of music and nature.

A celebration of life will be held at Stone Porch Alehouse,950 Kimball Ave, Verona, WI on Saturday, August 1st at 11am.
