Cathy Skowronski

Cathy Rae Skowronski, age 62, of DeForest, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2026.  She was born on January 27, 1964, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Joseph and Louella (Goss) DeMoor.

Cathy was united in marriage to Steve Skowronski on July 15, 1989, in Chicago, Illinois.  She worked for many years at WPS as a claims adjustor.

Cathy loved being in the outdoors and especially enjoyed gardening, birdwatching, fishing and watching her kids’ sporting events.  She also loved watching game shows and was known for her delicious Butterfinger Cake.

Cathy is survived by her husband, Steve; her sons, Matthew, Joseph, Eric, and Samuel Skowronski; her brother, Joseph (Sandra) DeMoor; her sister, LuAnn Brooks; and other close family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Dale Brooks.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Ryan Funeral Home – Windsor/DeForest Chapel, 6924 Lake Road, DeForest. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
