Alice Lainberger

Obituary
Our dear Lord called our loving angel home on May 9, 2026. Alice Lainberger (nee Benzine), 89 years young, of DeForest, Wisconsin. Born on August 19, 1936 in Keyeser, Wisconsin as the only child of Ray and Agnes Benzine.
She married the love of her life, Donald Lainberger on September 19, 1953 at the Spring Prairie Lutheran Church in Keyeser. Together they built a home filled with love and faith. She dedicated her life to her family and to her hard-work ethic, serving with a steady heart, a generous spirit, and a gift for making people feel loved.
She will be remembered for her kindness and patience; her love of baking; being crafty with card stamping and embroidery; and doing word find puzzles. She cared for all that knew her – whether being a school classmate, a student of her Sunday school class, a part of the Sunday school musical programs where Alice was the pianist; a member of the 4-H club; a co-worker during her 19 years at Grabers; or having Alice as your waitress during her 30 years at the Timbers in DeForest. Some of the moments we will hold closest are the Norwegian Christmas dinners and treats, trip to Nashville, July cherry picking in Door County, trips to the apple orchard in the fall, visits to the campground, and family vacations to Tomahawk.
She is survived by five children – Dennis, Richard, Ron (Anne), Vicki (Brad), and Brenda (Tom); 8 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and many beloved extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter-in-law, Merrilee “Mary”, son-in-law, Tim, and granddaughter, Reba.
To honor our mother’s wishes, there will be a private family burial. The family would love to hear about special memories or moments you have of Alice.
Her love remains woven into the lives she touched, the lessons she taught, and the family she held so dearly.
