Sheryl Jones

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude to God for her life that we announce the passing of Sheryl Alison Jones, who departed this world on May 22, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on May 17, 1950, in the sun-dappled city of Pasadena, California, Sheryl was the cherished firstborn and only daughter of David and Marian Jones. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, warmth, and unwavering dedication to those around her whom she loved and encouraged.

 Sheryl's journey through life was marked by her boundless dedication to the joy and wellbeing of her family, friends, neighbors, and care givers reflecting her compassionate spirit. After graduating from Fresno State College with a B.A. in Special Education, Sheryl found her true calling as a Bi-lingual Kindergarten Teacher in the Los Angeles, California School District. Her gentle touch and patient nature left indelible marks on the lives of countless young minds, instilling in them a love for learning and an appreciation for diverse cultures.

 As a grateful member of the Faith Community Bible Church in Madison, WI, Sheryl found strength and solace in her faith community. Her involvement with Yahara House in Madison provided her also with a community that she deeply connected with. Sheryl possessed a rare gift for hospitality, often opening her apartment and heart to friends and strangers alike as well as family.  Her piano playing filled the room with joy and her cheerful demeanor left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

 Sheryl's life was a testament to resilience, perseverance, and grace, even amidst the challenges of chronic illness. She faced her health struggles with a courage that inspired all who knew her, never once allowing her spirit to be dimmed. Her ability to greet everyone by name and take a personal interest in their lives was a reflection of a life set free from the bondage to self-interest by the redemptive work of her Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave His life as an atoning sacrifice on the cross for her redemption and arose from the grave to life everlasting, that where He is, Sheryl may be also.

 She is survived by her loving brothers, David Brynley (Carla) Jones, Bruce Arthur (Becky) Jones, and Bradley Roy (Dawn) Jones. Though Sheryl had no children of her own, her nurturing spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by her beloved parents, David Roy Jones and Marian Russel Jones, whom she now joins in Heaven.

 While Sheryl's passing leaves a void that can never truly be filled, her memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who knew her. As per her wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor her life.

 The Jones family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the dedicated staff at Evansville Manor and Fresenius Kidney Care Center for their compassionate care and unwavering support of Sheryl throughout her illness. Their kindness and dedication were a source of comfort to Sheryl and her family during her final days.

 Sheryl Alison Jones will be remembered as a beacon of light and love, whose legacy will continue to inspire and uplift all who had the privilege of knowing her.
