Lorena Evarts

Lorena Lou (Egdorf) Evarts, age 90, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 14, 1936, in Archer, Iowa, the fifth child of Harry and Ella (Tesch) Egdorf. As a child, she moved with her family to Jeffers, Minnesota where she grew up and attended school.

Lorena cared deeply about her family, especially her four grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. She rarely missed a Brewers game, cheering them on from her living room.

She is survived by her daughters, Lynn (Larry Federer) and Jeanne (Wally) Ritter; four grandchildren, Seth (Kryssa Neitzel), Jillian (Devin) Baerwolf, Riley Ritter, and Ian Ritter; and two great-grandchildren, Rory and Ivy Heideman.

Lorena was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Evarts; parents, Harry and Ella; brother, Richard (Gladys) Egdorf; sisters, Mildred (Russell) Bergman, Joyce (Arnold) Bolson, Norma (Wendell) Hoeft, and Joanne (Ron) Truax and other relatives and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 5, 2026, at Christ Lutheran Church,220 S. Main Street, DeForest, WI. The visitation will be held at 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will take place at Norway Grove Cemetery in DeForest, with a luncheon to follow at church.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Lorena's name to Christ Lutheran Church, the DeForest Public Library, or the Cornerstone Community Center in DeForest.
