Obituary

DeForest- Bonnie Joann Hauge, age 65, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 3, 2026. She was born on April 7, 1961, in Madison, WI to Glenn and Arlene (Pickarts) Hauge and graduated from Marshall High School in 1980. Bonnie spent 45 years working as a cook for Copper Kitchen and then Country Pride, which later became Popeye's. She enjoyed being in a bowling league, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

Bonnie is survived by her brother, Russell (Diana) Hauge; sister, Julie Wagner; nieces, Tara (Keith) Bohnsack and Katherine (Nicholas) Acker; grand-niece, Sydney Bohnsack; her significant other, John Smith; his children, Zack (Miranda) Smith and Holly Smith (Michael Hayes); and grandchildren, Alana, Oaklyn, Shaylyn, and Maverick.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 220 S Main St, DeForest, WI. A visitation will be held at church from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Christ Lutheran Church and the Wisconsin Lions Foundation.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at UW East Madison Hospital for their excellent care.

I used to be the general manager at Popeyes when Bonnie was there. every day was a fun field blast we used to crack jokes all day long pick on each other. Bonnie had a great sense of humor and an infectious that always brighten my day. I’m going to miss her rest in peace Bonnie love always Chef K.
