Margaret Lucille Hartwig (née Soma) passed away peacefully on June 21, 2026, at the age of 102.
Margaret was born in Kilbourn, Wisconsin, now known as Wisconsin Dells; daughter to Ingebert and Marie Soma. After raising her family, she worked for Schoep's Ice Cream Company for several years.
She is survived by her sister, Sharon Soma; her son, Michael (Helen); her daughters, Lynn Parsons and Joann (Paul) Johnson; her grandchildren, Dana Parsons, Tyler (Helen) Parsons, Kristin (Mitchell) Beckman, Samantha (Elliott) Mergen, and Spencer (Becca) George; her great-grandchildren, Quillan, Chiara, Madeline, Layla, Gavin, and Lincoln; and her stepdaughter, Janet Perrin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Hartwig; her sister, Ruth (Ronald) Schmidt; her brother, Harold (Judy) Soma; her stepson, William D. Hartwig; and her son-in-law, William Parsons.
Margaret's greatest joy in life was her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose love and support touched generations.
The family would like to thank My Choice Wisconsin, Bluestone Physician Services and Brighton Hospice for their professionalism and care they provided to Margaret.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 3, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Spring Grove Cemetery, 1584 Broadway Ave, Wisconsin Dells, WI.
