Lorraine Long

Lorraine A. (Menning) Long, age 93, passed away June 27, 2026. She was born November 28, 1932 to Edward and Elsie (Stefan) Menning.

Lorraine married Donald M. Long in 1956 and they remained married until Don’s death in 2019. Lorraine enjoyed attending church service on Sunday mornings and bible class Wednesday mornings. Her family would like to thank Pastor David Dukovan for his weekly visits to Lorraine and the comfort he provided to both her and her family during her final days. Lorraine also enjoyed gardening and reading but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Lorraine and Don had 3 children; Melanie Long, Martin Long and Jennifer (David) Wise; grandchildren, Creighton (Laura) Long, Mercedes Long, Jamie (Tim) Hernandez and Chrissy (Jake) Schmid; great-grandchildren, Ivy and Oleander Long, Adam and Eli Hernandez and Lily and Liam Schmid. She is further survived by her siblings; Kathy, Florence and John and many nieces and nephews.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Don; daughter-in-law, Martha Long; granddaughters, Kassia and Alexis Long; parents and siblings, Carl, Natalie, Dorothy, Elsie and Paul.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, July 10, 2026 at Ryan Funeral Home, 2418 N. Sherman Ave., Madison, WI. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service, from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Madison.
