MADISON - John Edward Statz, age 63, passed away unexpectedly on July 7, 2026. He was born on February 25, 1963 in Cross Plains, WI to parents Edward John and Donna Rae (Hanson) Statz. John was a mechanic and worked for Zimbrick Auto for numerous years. He was a kind and caring person and will be remembered for his acceptance of all others and his welcoming spirit.
John is survived by his son, Marcus Edward Statz; mother, Donna Statz, siblings, Gary ( Nancy) Statz, Robin Hurtado; and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his partner and best friend, One Feather.
He was preceded in death by his father and two siblings, Cheryl Statz and Dale Statz.
A graveside ceremony will take place at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 16, 2026 at Natural Path Sanctuary, 2299 Spring Rose Rd., Verona, WI.
