Terrence Peterson

Terrence David Peterson "Terry, Darrell", age 86, passed away quietly from this world early Friday morning, August 7, 2026, at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg, Wisconsin.

Terry was born on November 28, 1939.  He was originally from Brodhead (BHS Class of 1958) and had lived in Madison, Wisconsin, for many years.  He was employed by Lloyds Plumbing of Janesville until retirement and then he worked part time at Oscar Mayer/Kraft in Madison.

Terry was an avid reader, coin collector and had a keen interest in genealogy.  He had several spiral notebooks, compiling information on his family and requesting their assistance in keeping everything up to date.  He loved doing crossword puzzles, Sudoku, jigsaw puzzles and going to garage sales and to the library. Terry enjoyed playing cards with his siblings at their monthly get togethers, where the losers had to buy breakfast and the winners got to gloat.  He wasn’t very good at gloating; he was too modest and kind.

Terry is survived by his two sons, Jeff (Elaine) of Middleton and Brian of Madison, and two grandsons, Trevor and Gavin.  He is also survived by his siblings, Carole Badertscher, Anna Lea Duchow, Robert (Jean) Peterson, Paul (Debra) Peterson, sisters-in-law, Patricia Peterson and Marlene Harris, and also many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Terry was preceded in death by his dear wife, Helen, his parents, Raymond and Florence Peterson, his parents in law, Clifford and Blanche Fisher, his brother, Bruce,  brothers-in-law Richard Badertscher and Fred Duchow, along with his wife Helen’s siblings, Evelyn (Chuck) Lambert , Orn (Evelyn) Fisher, Jay Harris (brother-in-law), Charles Fisher, Orville Fisher and Alan Fisher.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 21, 2026 at Ryan Funeral Home, 2418 N. Sherman Avenue, Madison, WI. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service, from 10-11:00 a.m.
