Hobart Bosworth

MADISON/PLATTVILLE – Hobart Hunt Bosworth, age 78, passed away at his home on Friday, August 7, 2026. Hobart was born on October 5, 1947, in San Francisco, CA to George and Einna (Hunt) Bosworth. He grew up in the SF Bay Area and graduated from Mills High School. He later attended UC Berkeley and UC San Diego Medical School.

Hobart was a well-respected ENT Surgeon. Hobart married Cynthia Fowler in New Orleans on May 26,1996. She was a professor of audiology and hearing science at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. They moved to Madison to further their careers.

Hobart was proud of his role as a boycott organizer in the SF bay area and central valley for the United Farm Workers during the grape boycott of the late 1960’s.

Hobart enjoyed riding on the floats at Mardi Gras, reading, and was a history buff. He particularly enjoyed gardening and spending time with family.

Hobart had an incredible memory and our memories of him will warm our hearts forever.

Hobart is survived by his wife of 30 years, Cynthia; brother, George (Brenda); and niece, Marisa (Jorge) Guerra. Further survived by other family and friends. Hobart is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gary.
