Obituary
Jack J. Adrian, age 80, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2026.
Born on July 14, 1946, to Frances (Sorce) Adrian and John F. Adrian, he lived a life filled with family, friendship, service, travel, music, theater, and a deep appreciation for the places and people he loved.
Jack attended Pius High School and later Marquette University, where he earned a degree in Speech. A proud former Marine, he put his talents to use while stationed a Camp Lejeune, hosting a news program called Globe and Anchor. his love of broadcasting and music continued as a weekend DJ at WBBS.
He went on to build a long career with the Department of Veterans Affairs, with his work taking him to cities across the county, including Milwaukee, Buffalo, Washington, D.C., Nashville, and Detroit.
Eventually, he retired to the city that truly had his heart- Chicago. He enjoyed 26 wonderful years there, embracing all the city had to offer and always taking great joy in sharing it with family and friends who came to visit.
He loved the timeless music of Frankie Valli and Lesley Gore, a memorable night at the theater, enjoying a wonderful dinner out (with a gin martini, of course), the adventure and nostalgia of a train trip, and his one-of-a-kind passion for collecting all things buses.
He believed life was meant to be celebrated and enjoyed, especially when shared with the people he loved most. With his wonderful sense of humor and love of laughter, he had a way of making time spent together more fun and memorable.
More than anything, he will be remembered as a beloved brother, uncle, great-uncle, partner, cousin, and friend whose life touched so many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frances and John; his grandparents; many dear aunts and uncles; and partner, Dr. Paul Johnson.
He is survived by his sister, Jill (Steve); nieces, Melissa (Craig), Jayme (Keola), and Kaycee (Jay); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Zoe, Tia, Thomas, Tyler, Kaleo, Rick, and Ryu. He is also lovingly remembered by many cousins and dear friends, including Rob and Caroline Sanderson, Ray Bogush, and Melton Maeda.
His family will miss his stories, his humor, his company, and the unmistakable way he enjoyed life and they will forever be grateful for the memories he gave them.
A Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, 7301 West Nash Street, Milwaukee, on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 11:00AM.
