Obituary
Michael “Mike” J. Klade, age 60, passed away Sunday August 23rd, 2026 at his home in Endeavor, Wisconsin, surround by family. He was born April 18, 1966 in Madison, WI to Elsa and Raymond Meyers.
Mike graduated from Madison East High School in 1984, where he met his high school sweetheart, Cindy. He later went on to achieve his journeyman electrician degree from Madison Area Technical College (MATC). He finished his career at University of Wisconsin Madison working as a lead electrical estimator at the physical plant.
Mike married Cindy Kurtz at the Madison Capitol on June 15, 1985. They were blessed with the birth of their son, Michael and their daughter, Erica “EK”. They spent 41 years of marriage together traveling, laughing, and enjoying the outdoors.
He enjoyed hunting, camping, boating, and when not outdoors movie nights were essential with his family. Mike enjoyed all forms of outdoor vehicles including boats, ATVs, motorcycles, and tractors.
Mike was a family man and spent a lot of his time cooking/grilling family meals, watching tv, sharing stories, playing games, and taking care of his 3 dogs: Harvey, Elsa, and Raymond. He was a devout Christian and follower of Jesus Christ and openly shared his love and praise for his Savior.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy; his son, Michael (John), and his daughter Erica “EK” (Chelsea Bilbrey), Siblings: Ingrid Markland, Kim Holman, Richard Klade, Sandy Meyers; mother-in-law, Marlene Kurtz; sister-in-law, Bonnie (Chris) Staven; and several nieces and nephews including a special bond with his niece Kari Herrera and of course numerous close friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ray and Elsa Meyers, father-in-law Harvey Kurtz, and sister-in-law Linda Boden-Myers.
A visitation will be held at Ryan Funeral Home, 2418 N Sherman Ave, Madison, WI 53704 at 4:00 p.m. on Friday August 28, 2026 until the time of service at 6:00 p.m. attendees are encouraged to dress casually. A toast to his life will be held afterwards at Lazy Oaf Lounge (1617 N Stoughton Rd, Madison, WI 53704).
