Obituary

Beverly L. Rago, age 96, passed away on August 27, 2026, at Hattie’s Bay in Middleton, Wisconsin. She was born on October 24, 1929, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to parents Oscar and Armella (Behnke) Olson.

Before moving to Springfield, Beverly spent time volunteering with the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation in Racine. She later moved to Springfield, Illinois in 1972 and worked at the Springfield State Capitol as a receptionist for several governors. Beverly’s faith was very important to her, she was very devout and would go to the Cathedral every day for Mass. Above all, she will be remembered for being sweet, kind, well loved, and helpful even up to the day she passed. Beverly modeled, was a talented seamstress and loved fashion and decorating.

Beverly started having memory issues and she moved in with her daughter, Lynn, to receive care she needed; and loved having her grandsons Adam and Alex by her side. Adam & Alex spent lots of time caring for grandma taking her shopping or going to events. Adam took her with him in the golf cart every sunny Sunday, where she loved the ride, fresh air, wild animals and people watching. She loved visiting her grandson Nicholas in Chicago where they shared fun get togethers, outings, and events.

Beverly is survived by her children Lynn Spencer, George “Rocky” Rago, Earl Rago, Bill Rago, and Loui Rago; and a numerous amount of grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is further survived by her sisters-in-laws Sherry Olson, Dorma Olson, and Darlene Olson.

She was preceded in death by her husband Al; and her 5 siblings Eilene (Jim) Shadler, Donald Olson, Gene Olson, Phylis (Carl) Bauer, and Bill Olson.

Beverly is now in heaven reunited with her beloved husband, Al Rago and her 5 siblings.
