Carol A. (Watson) Duppler
March 15, 1938 - September 3, 2026

Carol Duppler, age 88, of Madison, Wisconsin, passed away at The Courtyard at Fitchburg on September 3, 2026. She was born in Madison, Wisconsin on March 15, 1938, daughter of the late James Stewart and Eldred (David) Watson. She graduated from Madison West High School and attended Stevens College, Columbia, MO. Her education continued at UW Madison, WI. Carol married Donald Duppler on August 23, 1958.

Carol was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and enjoyed all facets of the church, especially bible study. She loved the outdoors and watching birds. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time at their cabin in Coloma, relaxing and reading a good book, and entertaining family and friends. Carol loved crafts and especially games. Her favorites where Bridge, Canasta, and Rummikub. Ultimately, Carol’s children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild were her and her husband's world.

She is survived by her husband Donald Duppler; their four children, Kurt (Susan Mueller) Duppler, Bill (Jo) Duppler, Don (Jacquie) Duppler, and Katy (Jeff) Esser; 10 grandchildren, Kevin (Tesla) Duppler, Kyle (Cynthia) Duppler, Hannah Duppler, Holly Duppler, Hope Duppler, Grace Duppler, Nicole (Bryan) Weiss, Michelle (Jake) Manser, Brittney Esser, and Brandon Esser; along with one great-grandchild, AJ Weiss. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, James (Louise) Watson; and her sisters, Dorothy (John) D'Amelio and Rosemary (Robert) Shea.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 18, 2026, at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 602 Everglade Drive, Madison, with Fr. Lawrence Oparaji officiating. Burial will be at St Andrew Catholic Cemetery, 565 N Main St. Verona, immediately following Mass. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Wisconsin, 4600 American PKWY STE.103, Madison, WI 53718.

A special thanks to Dr. Karen Reed, The Courtyard at Fitchburg, and the special caregivers at Interim Health Care and Hospice.
