Obituary
Wayne Thomas Glowac, 68, of Poynette, WI, left this earth on Sunday, August 30th while doing what he loved - training for the Door County Century Bike Ride. A heart event took him for the great race in Heaven.
Wayne was born on August 7th, 1958 in Elgin Illinois. He attended Barrington High School, where he met the love of his life, Laurie. Wayne and Laurie were married for 45 years. He graduated from Northern Illinois University, majoring in marketing. After years of advertising, Wayne opened Orion Advertising. He spent years running his company before becoming an independent contractor.
Wayne and Laurie had three boys. Preston (married Maura), Taylor (married Robin), and Connor. His greatest joy was his two grandsons, Theo (aged 4) and Aiden (almost 2). He leaves behind his brother Ron (married Laurie), his sister Dee Dee, and many nieces and nephews, some of whom were his best friends. He was preceded in death by his dad, Roman and loving mother, Juana, for whom he provided a loving home until her passing in 2011.
Wayne was very active in community services. From the Salvation Army, Rotary Club of Madison, Madison Visitors & Convention Bureau, Cub Master with his three boys, and President of the 56rs Soccer Club. Wayne was a practicing Buddhist at the Zen Center of Madison. His positive mindset was an inspiration to everyone around him. Wayne loved life and lived large. He enjoyed R.V.ing, boating, scuba diving with Connor, biking, and cutting wood for the many bonfires spent with family and friends. He also loved reading about history, submarines, planes, and researching relatives who died in World War II.
Wayne will be missed by all the people whose lives he touched during his lifetime. A true inspiration to everyone. Rest in peace, darling Wayne. It’s your turn to keep God laughing.
Celebration of Life will be held on September 12th at The Thirsty Moose from 2pm-5pm. N3135 County Rd V, Poynette, WI 53955
