Let's celebrate the life of Doug Britton (John Douglas), Husband, Dad, Grampa, Uncle, Cousin, and Friend.

After a brief illness, Doug peacefully began his next journey on Thursday morning, the 3rd of September, 2026, his loving "child bride" by his side, his loving and faithful service friend, Chuffee, at his feet, and the rest of his loving family and friends in his heart.

Passions for reading, writing, and learning fueled his life of creation, innovation, exploration, and service.

Doug worked for the State of Wisconsin, and fondly remembered his years traveling statewide to provide technical support for the Child Support system.

A Vietnam War combat veteran, Doug was especially proud of his voluntary service in the U.S. Navy where he served as an Electronics Technician on the USS Askari, in the Brown Water Navy's Mobile Riverine Force, with his lifelong friend Jerry. That bond will forever remain unbroken.

In lieu of flowers/gifts, Doug's family asks that donations be made to Patriot K9s of Wisconsin, Agrace Hospice, or your local library/bookstore.
