DeForest - Charles "Chuck" P. Carter, age 87, of DeForest, Wisconsin, passed away on September 14, 2026, at Hattie's Glen of Madison. He was born on April 8, 1939, in Sterling, Illinois, the beloved son of Sterling Carter and Mary (Fritz) Carter. Chuck graduated high school and honorably served his country as a member of the United States Army, an experience that reflected his steadfast character and commitment. Chuck dedicated his professional life to sales within the automotive industry, where he built a respected career. Chuck enjoyed all kinds of sports, like football, baseball, racing, golfing and snowmobiling. He especially was a fan of the Chicago Bears. He was a man who valued family and hard work, traits he passed on to those who knew him well.
Chuck is survived by his sons, Craig (Amy) Carter and Scott Carter; grandchildren; Damian and Ayden (Haley) Carter; step grandchildren, Lindsey, Mike and Kendal; and great grandchildren, Axel, Jack and Colin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sterling and Mary; daughter-in-law, Vickie Carter; and four sisters.
The family extends their gratitude for the care and support provided during his final days.
Charles "Chuck" Paul Carter’s memory will be cherished by friends and family who admired his quiet strength and generous spirit. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
