Gerald "Jerry" Hahn

Gerald “Jerry” R. Hahn, age 80, passed away at his home on September 18, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on March 7, 1946, in Madison, Wisconsin to parents Elmer and Dorothy (Reppen) Hahn.

Jerry graduated from DeForest High School in 1964. Jerry was a lifelong resident of the Town of Vienna. On September 2, 1968, he married Karen M. (Kuehn) in Waunakee, Wisconsin, and together they shared 58 years of marriage. He worked for the University of Wisconsin for over 37 years before retiring. He really enjoyed taking care of his properties, camping, and riding around the town on his UTV.

Jerry is survived by his wife Karen; Julie (Jonathan) Sadler, Jill (Duane) Grinde, Jeffrey (Kim) Hahn, Jayson Hahn (Kelsey Buhr), and James (Allison) Hahn; 6 grandchildren Kayla (Jon) Coppernoll, Adam Grinde, Nathan Sadler, Madalyn (Gavin) Metaxa, Mitchell (Liz Volz) Hahn, and Emma Hahn; sisters Jean Tinnermeier and Cindy (Dan) LaValley; brothers-in-law Keith (Barb) Kuehn, Kendall Kuehn; sisters-in-law Korene (Greg) Olson and Karla (Randy) Homan; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Rita Brugger; brother-in-law Ron Tinnermeier; and in-laws Albert and Olga Kuehn.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Agrace Hospice and the staff at the UW Carbone Cancer Center.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at Norway Grove Lutheran Church, 820 River Rd, DeForest. A visitation will be held on Wednesday at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial to follow at Norway Grove Lutheran Cemetery.
