Obituary
Susan Marie Ladwig, age 75 of DeForest passed away on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Agrace HospiceCare.
She was born on April 29, 1951, in Marinette, WI, the daughter of Edward and June (Swanson) Nault. Susan was married on June 4, 1988, to Wade Ladwig. Sue worked as a Dental Assistant for several years at Dental Health Associates. After an accident in 1989, she became a homemaker and stay-at-home mom to not only Ian, but to all of his friends. She was a lover of flowers and birds, always beautifully maintaining her indoor “garden” and her raspberry bushes, deeming herself the “Raspberry Queen of DeForest”. She enjoyed cross-stitch, listening to music (instead of watching that darn TV or playing on a phone) and could play a mean game of Rummy (which she usually won). Even though she wasn’t fond of sports, she thoroughly enjoyed watching first, her son and then later, her granddaughter play them. As long as she was with her “Bear”, sports could be tolerated.
Susan loved her family, and she took great pride in being a wife, mother and especially a grandmother. Survivors include her husband, Wade; two children, Tracy Martin of West Annandale (MN), Ian (Shelly) Ladwig of Sun Prairie; three granddaughters, Kinzy & Kayla Martin and Rylin Ladwig; two siblings, Dean (Lori) Nault, Keith (Jody) Nault; in-laws, Tina (Dave) Stachura, Gretchen (Paul) Hill; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Edward & June Nault and in-laws, Clyde & Mary Ladwig.
The family would like to thank the staff at Agrace HospiceCare for the love and compassionate care given to Sue in her final days.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 11:00AM at St. Dennis Catholic Church, 505 Dempsey Rd, Madison with Fr. Mike Resop presiding. Visitation will be held from 9:30AM until time of Mass on Saturday at the church.
