Joyce McGinnity

Joyce B. McGinnity, age 98, passed away on September 30, 2026 at Sienna Crest Assisted Living in DeForest, WI. She was born on July 10, 1928 in Ellenboro, WI to parents, Herman and Jennie (Hall) Wolf.

Joyce grew up on a farm in Dodgeville, WI where she graduated high school. She was an LPN and worked a St. Mary’s Newborn Nursery for 25 years. After retiring, she provided in home daycare for 15 years. She was a member of Sweet Adelines for 2 years. 

Joyce was a dedicated Milwaukee Brewers fan and loved listening to ball games. She enjoyed crocheting and made many baby blankets over the years. Joyce will be dearly missed and always remembered for her sharp wit and strong will.

She is survived by her children, Jim (Jackie) McGinnity, Kay Haack, Pat McGinnity, Mark (Susie) McGinnity; daughter-in-law, Donna McGinnity; grandchildren, Tadd McGinnity, Danielle McGinnity, Kari Hatfield, Chad Scheuerell, Jen Hein, Dylan McGinnity, and Craig McGinnity; several great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Karen Wolf and nephew, Tom Wolf.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Mike McGinnity; siblings, Barb (Thomas) Fitzgerald, Doris Wolf, Ardys Wolf, Ronald Wolf; nephew, Bradley Wolf and niece, Angela Campbell.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 8, 2026 at Ryan Funeral Home, 6924 Lake Road, DeForest, WI. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service, from 10:00-11:00 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Norway Grove Cemetery in DeForest.
