Mary Morey

Our beautiful Mary, 67, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, October 3, 2026.

Born on November 25, to the late Anthony and Elizabeth Pickarts, Mary was a true Madisonian. She graduated from West Highschool in 1976. Mary’s career path was filled with various positions. She dedicated years to Administration and Hospitality occupations. Mary also enjoyed her experience at a New York City Public Relations firm. One of her favorite positions was at the Madison Club.

In 1986, on Flag Day, she married the love of her life, Christopher Morey. Chris and Mary met and were married in Arizona where they embarked on many adventures together through the Southwest. One of Mary’s favorite destinations was to San Diego where they enjoyed the ocean and watching sunsets. They also loved the mountain grandeur of San Juan in Colorado. In 1987, Ross was born and shortly after, they returned to Mary’s roots to raise a family in Madison. Mary enjoyed Wisconsin culture, like the UW Badgers, the Esquire Supper Club, and the changing seasons.

A woman of kindness, style, and endless love for her family, Mary is survived by her husband, Chris; son, Ross (Mercedes); and her cherished grandchildren, Raya and Wren. She is also survived by her brother, Steven Pickarts of Arizona.

A celebration of life will be held on November 1, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Bear & Bottle, 601 N Sherman Ave, Madison.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Mary’s family.
