Carolyn Hillyer

Carolyn Sue Hillyer, age 73, passed away on October 12, 2026, at the Legacy at Noel Manor in Verona. She was born on May 21, 1953, in Charleston, West Virginia to parents Jeff and edna Wooten.

Carolyn married Michael Hillyer on September 18, 1976, in New Jersey. The two met while attending Columbia Bible College. Michael preceded her in death on January 7, 2022. She was employed at State Farm Insurance for over 30 years. She found joy in reading, gardening, playing video games, and most of all, spending time with her family. Being a grandmother was one of her greatest joys, and she treasured the special memories with her grandchildren.

Carolyn is survived by her 3 daughters Goldie Abels and her children Gavin and Liam Abels; Rachel Hillyer, and Elinor (Patrick) Biron and their children Amos, Levi, and Lucas; her sister Judy King; nephew Brian; special niece Nickey Williams; and dear in-laws, who held a special place in her heart.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, granddaughter Addelyn Biron, nephew Elliott; niece Hillery Peters, and brother-in-law Dwayne King.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff at The Legacy at Noel Manor for their care.
