Obituary

Madison - Rosetta "Rose" Ann (Cleary) Jorenby, age 85, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 15, 2026. This is the obituary Rose wrote many years ago, with only a few updates.

Rose was born to Homer and Marjorie (Reger) Cleary in 1940. She worked at a medical manufacturing company for 20 years. She was a member of St Bernards Catholic Church, Madison WI. Rose did volunteer work for the VA Hospital and Ronald McDonald House. When her children were young; she taught religion classes. She loved tennis, bowling and dancing.

Rose truly loved Concerts on the Square, taking the bus to plays in Chicago, enjoyed Rooftop Concerts, Art Fair on the Square, Taste of Madison and going to the movies. She had lots of enthusiasm for walking with headphones on. She loved to shop and listen to all kinds of music.

Rose really enjoyed watching UW football, basketball and hockey, loved the Green Bay Packers and taking the bus to watch the Milwaukee Brewers.

Most of all Rose enjoyed watching her grandchildren participate in their activities. In 2008 she took her dream vacation to New York City. When she considered you a friend, she was truly your friend.

Rose is survived by her sons Jeffrey (Patti) and Rodney (Stefanie). Her grandchildren Jessica (Liz), Jacob & Braden. Her siblings Frank (June), Marilyn, Betty, Donna (Ron), her sister-in-law Linda and very special nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father Homer, her mother Marjorie, brother Bill and nephew Chad (Bill’s son), a special little boy. She also missed Jessica’s dog, Captain Stewbing.

In addition, she was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Terry, with whom she shared an extraordinary bond. Terry held a special place in her heart and it’s comforting to know they’re reunited.

The family would like to thank the staff at Complete Care and Agrace Hospice for their care of Rose. Everyone was always so kind to her and us and we couldn’t have done it without their help, expertise and guidance. In lieu of flowers, donations (if desired) can be made to Agrace Hospice.
