Margery Klinge

Margery “Marge” Ellen Klinge, 78, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of Sunday, November 1, 2026 with her brother, Ron, and her daughter, Robyn by her side.

She was born on Sunday, April 11th in 1948 in Dodgeville, Wisconsin to Gordon and Grace Robson and grew up in Spring Green, WI before moving to Madison.

Marge was one of the kindest and most giving people you could hope to meet. She would have given the shirt off her back to a friend in need, and she often did the equivalent. She loved music, dancing, and baking, and had a real sense of adventure. She loved a good road trip and frequently accompanied Monte on his contracting jobs, which took them all over the country. Her absolute favorite trip was to Alaska with her parents to visit her sister, Pauline, and Pauline’s husband, Ken.

Marge loved winter and snowmen, and enjoyed watching the animals and birds visit the feeders in her backyard. Her dog Rooty was her constant companion. Above all, she loved her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Grace Robson; her brother, Gerald (Jerry) Robson; her sister-in-law, Mary Robson, and her husband, Lamonte “Monte” Neil Johnston.

She is survived by her daughters, Robyn Klinge (Justin Schmitz) and Jana (Klinge) Smith (TJ Smith); her granddaughter, Emerson Smith; her brother, Ron Robson; her sister, Pauline (Robson) Short (Ken Short), and many friends who will miss her dearly.

A Celebration of Marge’s life will start at 3:30 P.M. on Tuesday, November 17, 2026, at American Legion Post 481, 5337 River Road, Waunakee, WI. A service and sharing of memories will take place around 4:30pm. In lieu of flowers or cards, the family asks that donations be made to the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration.
