Marian Rosenberger

Madison Marian Patricia (Paddy) Rosenberger was called to heaven on August 17th, 2014, after suffering a life-ending stroke. Paddy was born in Evansville, Indiana on July 30th, 1932. She graduated from Bosse High School where she took great pride in continuing the family tradition of being a Drum Majorette. While living in Evansville she was set up on a blind date by her sister and met her future husband of 60 years, Greg. They started a family and moved to Madison in 1963 where she lived in the same house for 51 years. She got a job at Central Wisconsin Center where she gave loving care to severely developmentally and physically disabled children for 30 years.

Paddy loved tending her flower gardens, especially her roses. She liked going to the theatre, dining out and traveling with Greg. She was forever documenting family events through photographs. She loved attending mass at her church and faithfully supported her church and charities. She was also a fantastic cook! She lovingly cared for her dog, Rosey, for 18 years. Paddy was a patient, kind, friendly woman who befriended anyone in her path. Mom was an incredibly loving, caring and generous mother and grandmother. She was always supportive of our decisions and encouraging of our dreams. She was a constant, reassuring, loving presence in our lives. We will dearly miss her and keep her forever in our hearts.

She is survived by: children Naomi Sue Rosenberger, N.J., Michael (Nancy) Rosenberger, Helen (Brian) Hansen; grandchildren Maxwell, Chase and Henry Hansen; brother-in-law Bill (Nancy) Rosenberger; Sisters-in-law Debbie (Rick) Eschenbach and Tracy Rosenberger; nephews and nieces Randy, Mark, Eric, Greg and Alec Rosenberger, Georgie (Larry) Murphy, Diane Dee and Jerry Fox. She is preceded in death by her husband, Greg Rosenberger; sisters Thelma Fox and Dolores Richter.

Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Betsy Trowbridge and Dr. Jaya Krishna for their devoted care of our mom. Also to 8th floor neurology at Meriter Hospital, especially to Rochelle and Ande.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at ST. PETER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5001 N. Sherman Avenue, with Msgr. Charles Schluter presiding. Visitation will be from 5 - 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Ryan Funeral Home, 2418 N. Sherman Avenue and again at church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass.
