Catherine DiSalvo

MADISON – At the age of 97, Catherine A. (Falci) DiSalvo, a treasured mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Jan. 10, 2015, at Meriter Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam DiSalvo.

She will be dearly missed by her children, John, Marlene (Mike) Backus, Rich, and Denny (Nan) DiSalvo. She was the dearest grandmother of Dana (Pete) Breunig and John DiSalvo; Jeff Backus, Christi (Jamie) Wanless, John (Chris) Backus and Steve (Melissa) Backus; Zach DiSalvo; and Liz and Daniel DiSalvo. She was the cherished great-“Grandma D” of Colton and Kaylee Wanless; Meghan, Samantha and Nicholas Backus; and Ella and Ethan Backus. She is further survived by Barb DiSalvo; sister-in-law, Carmie Falci; brother-in-law, Ralph DiSalvo; nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Catherine was an active member of St. James Catholic Church. She will be remembered as an excellent cook, an avid card player, a jokester, and a bookkeeper for several well-known Madison establishments. She had an endless love for her family and lived her life doing for others. Her sense of humor will be missed by all who knew her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015, at GOOD SHEPHERD CATHOLIC PARISH, at the ST. JAMES CHURCH, 1128 St. James Court, Madison, with Monsignor Tom Baxter presiding. Burial will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015, at church, from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
