Jeanne Ziegler

MADISON – Jeanne K. Ziegler, age 90, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. She was born on July 2, 1924, in Mount Horeb, the daughter of Edgar and Margaret Krohn. She graduated from Madison East High School. Jeanne married Calvin Ziegler on December 12, 1950.

Jeanne was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She loved her family, home, and pets. She was a lifetime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Madison. She was a member of the Daughters of the Nile and Madison ELKS Lodge No. 410. Jeanne served in the Women’s Army Corps, (WACs) and was stationed in Washington D.C. during World War II. She and Calvin loved taking vacations and seeing new places. She was also a wonderful cook and enjoyed creating new dishes.

Jeanne is survived by her daughters, Christine (Randy) Borchers and Karen (Larry) Taff; three grandsons, Jacob (fianceAC., Kacey) Taff, Jesse Taff and Bradley Borchers; and her brother, Wilson “Bud”Krohn; many nieces and nephews and her special dog, Lily. She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin; her parents; and her brother-in-law, Vernon Ziegler.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2015, at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Ave., with yhe Rev. Ken Smith officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church or the Dane County Humane Society.
