Obituary
LAKE WISCONSIN – E. Jane Boyd, age 90, passed away on March 29, 2015, at Rest Haven Health Care Center. She was born in Pittsburg, Penn., on June 2, 1924, the daughter of James and Eleanor (Woodard) Boyd. She attended the University of Utah, receiving a Master's degree in Psychiatric Social Work. Jane worked as a Social Worker for the State of Wisconsin at Mendota Mental Hospital for many years before her employment at Portage Correctional Facility, from which she retired.
Jane loved cats, taking extensive trips on her motorcycle, and being active on the water with her sailboat and canoe.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews; and her longtime companion, Patricia Bennett.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Louise Laurie.
A very special thanks goes to the Nurses and CNAs at Rest Haven, for their compassionate care of Jane.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the Columbia County Humane Society.
A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2015, at JOYCE-RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 5701 Odana Road, Madison.
