Steven Robert "Reno" Genna, age 47, passed away in his sleep on Wednesday, April 8, 2015.

Reno graduated from Verona Area High School in 1986. After high school, he proudly joined the U.S. Army where his passion for truck driving began. He was a self-employed heavy/wide load truck driver for over 26 years. He could watch movies and tell you exactly which state the movie was filmed by looking at the roads and mountains.

Reno loved meeting new people wherever he traveled and became long time friends with many of them. He loved camping with his children, boating with his beloved dog Cuervo, and was well known on Lake Waubesa and Gilligan's Island. Reno was an animal lover who would help anything injured and brought joy and laughter to all who met him. He never met a stranger. He was deep and diverse, goofy and fun loving, brave and loyal, and lived life with passion and integrity.

Reno is survived by his children, Dylan and Julia; mother, Mary Genna; sisters, Mary Jo Genna and Deb (Mike) Franch; nephew and niece, Brendan and Morgan Franch. He is also survived by his birth mother, Patricia (Carl) Wiedholz; half sister, Wendy (Creg) Kapral; son, Patrick Schreiner and family; uncle, Craig (Jenda) Hanson; special cousins, Pierce and J'lee Hanson and Cody Rufener; special friend, Colleen Serafini; his beloved dog, Cuervo; and many other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Genna.

A service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 220 Enterprise Drive, Verona, with Father William Vernon officiating Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 pm until the time of the service.
