Robert Trameri

MADISON - Robert Nicholas Trameri, age 90, entered God's Kingdom on Wednesday, April 29, 2015. Bob was born on January 10, 1925 at Madison General Hospital to parents Charles C. and Pierina J. (Praolini). He graduated from Central High School in Madison in 1943. Bob was proud to have grown up in the Greenbush and enjoyed participating in minyans at Agudis Achim when a quorum was needed. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force as a control tower operator in WWII. He met his wife of 64 years, Delores A. Raffel, at Schwartz's Pharmacy and they were married on March 31, 1951 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. He worked in the shoe department at Manchester's and for the U.S. Postal Service for 42 years. He was a member of and an usher at Our Lady Queen of Peace. He was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus Council #4527 and worked concessions for UW football games to raise money for the council. He also served meals as a volunteer at St. Luke House. Bob loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, sailor, mushroom hunter, and vegetable grower. He thoroughly enjoyed sharing the fruits of his harvest with friends, neighbors, and with Frs. Fiedler and Vanetta. Some of his best memories resulted from his many travels overseas, especially to visit relatives in Italy.
Bob is survived by his sons Mark (Julie) and Bruce; grandchildren, Matthew, Katie (Logan) Buell; great grandchildren, Ellis and Lennon Buell, and brother, Richard (Dorothy). He is further survived by many nieces and nephews and by "Trooper." He was preceded in death by his spouse, Delores, son Scott and brother Aldo (Frances).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 401 South Owen Drive, Madison on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 with Fr. William Nolan presiding. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass at the church on Tuesday. Entombment will take place at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the kind and compassionate care provided by the staff at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie, Agrace Hospice, and the Carbone Cancer Center. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Our Lady Queen of Peace School Endowment Fund, Agrace Hospice, or to St. Luke House.
