Daniel Richards

POYNETTE- Daniel W. "Hoooch" Richards, age 52, passed away on May 3, 2015. He was born in Madison on December 5, 1962, the son of Raymond and Marion (McKernan) Richards. Hoooch graduated from Madison East High School in 1981. He married Camille Wiesner on October 17, 1998 at St. Bernards Catholic Church. Hoooch was a truck driver and owned his own trucking business.

Hoooch was an avid sports fan who especially loved going to UW and Packer football games with his family. He loved golfing, boating, fishing, hunting, and traveling with his wife, Camille, to Cancun, Mercer, and taking lighthouse tours in Door County. He loved his pets, starting with his childhood dog, Smokey Joe, his bird, Fred, and most recently, his dog, Guinness. Lastly, he loved spending time with friends at his home away from home, Players Sports Bar.

He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Camille; his brother, Roger (Lynne) Richards; sister, Mary Kaye McKernan; mother-in-law, Jean Wiesner; brother-in-law, Tim (Penny) Wiesner; Mike and Chris Grainger, Sue (Al) Spahn; and many special nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John and Raymond; father-in-law, William; and cousin, Pat Grainger.

The family would like to extend a very special thanks to K3: Katie, Kaylee, and Kelsey. Hoooch's nurses who gave him exceptional care at UW Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2015, at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Ave. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
