John "Jack" "Bear" Wayne Pobiecke, 63, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital after a recent decline in health.
Jack was born May 8, 1952 in Madison, the son of John A. and Doris M. (Thompson) Pobiecke. He graduated from Madison East High School and retired from Oscar Mayer after 31 years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, golfing and long country drives. Above all else, family was most important to Jack.
Jack is survived by his sister, Judy (Vidar Ishmael) Auclair; a niece, Tina (Gene Powers) Crews; a nephew, Michael Meidl; great nephew, Brandon LaBelle; and great niece, Katlyn Meidl.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Faye Meidl.
The family extends their gratitude to the St. Mary's Hospital 7th floor nursing staff who has cared for Jack these past eight weeks.
It was Jack's wish that there be no public service and his family will gather privately. Burial will be at Lakeview Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Lakeview Lutheran Church, 4001 Mandrake Road, Madison, 53704.
