Sun City, AZ / Madison WI – James S. “Red” Baldwin, age 88, passed away on May 4, 2015 in Sun City, AZ.
Red was born on June 3rd, 1926 in Madison, WI to William and Nora Baldwin. He attended Madison Central High School and then entered the US Army during WWII. He served in the Pacific Theatre in the 41st Division. Red maintained a connection with their association, serving as secretary for many years. Red was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge and Bronze Star for his service in WWII. He was a Journeyman Sheet Metal Worker and a proud union member.
Red is survived by his children, Joseph (Jane), John (Dorothy), and Janet (Jerry) Metzger; grandchildren, Michael (Michele), Patrick (Misty) and Lindsey; great-grandchildren, Garrett, Alex, Lindsey (Mark) Edgren; great-great-grandchildren Haley and Ava. He is preceded in death by his son, James “Jimmy” Jr.; siblings, Harry and Helen.
Military Honors will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2015, at 12 noon, at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Avenue in Madison. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of honors.
