MOUNT HOREB/RIDGEWAY- Christopher L. "Chris" Kvernen, age 57, passed away on July 7, 2015, at St. Mary's Hospital. Chris was born in Madison on January 10, 1958, the son of William O. and Doris (Sutter) Kvernen.
He graduated from Mount Horeb High School in 1976, and went on to work at WPS Insurance for many years. Chris enjoyed his time with the bands Kicks, and Little Vito and the Torpedos. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends. He especially enjoyed time with his nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Chris is survived by his siblings, Victoria Veium, Mark (Carol) Kvernen, Kathy Kvernen, and John Kvernen; his nieces and nephews, Robbie (Sophia) Nicholson, Karli (Bobby Keeser) Nicholson, Marcus (Kristin) Nicholson, Brenda (Rob) Chamberlain, Lisa (Matt) Gerlach, Matt Kvernen, Zachary Brink, Madison Brink, and Luke Kvernen; and eight great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A scripture service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2015, at SAINT IGNATIUS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 109 S. 6TH ST., MOUNT HOREB, with the Very Reverend Richard Heilman presiding. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church on Saturday.
