Steven Feiler

Madison - Steven J. Feiler, age 75, died on Sunday, July 19, 2015 at a Madison hospital following a short illness. He was born on November 15, 1939 in Madison, the son of Edmund and Rose (Motlet) Feiler.

He graduated from Edgewood High School in 1958. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a Master Carpenter and Builder in Madison for his entire life. He loved traveling to Puerto Rico, which he did for 49 years straight. He formally ran the Madison Gun Club in Cottage Grove, where he loved to shoot trap. He was also a huge Nascar, Packer and Badger fan. He was a life member of the Elks Club. He was also a member of American Legion Post #501, the Monona Grove Businessmen's Club and Madison Packer Backers.

He is survived by his son Greg Feiler, of Madison; a significant other of 15 years, Shirley Ryan; several nieces, nephews; his best friends Larry Schmidt and Joan Brandel; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Anna Mae; five brothers and sisters, Martha Walkington, John Feiler, Helen Smith, twin sister Suzy Magnun, and Bob Feiler.

The family wishes to thank the ICU unit and dialysis team at St. Mary's Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at JOYCE-RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 5701 Odana Road, Madison on Friday, July 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
