It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Esmeralda Sotero Herrera, who left us peacefully on April 6, 2025, at the age of 33. Born in Mexico, Esmeralda's journey led her to Madison, Wisconsin, where she met the love of her life, Geronimo Otero Simon, in 2013. Their love blossomed, and on October 12, 2015, they were married, marking the beginning of a beautiful family. Esmeralda was the proud mother of three wonderful children: Vanesa, Alan, and Alison. She poured her heart into caring for her family, and her love was evident in everything she did, especially in the kitchen. Esmeralda was known for her delicious cooking, with her pozole being a beloved dish that she prepared to show her love and devotion to those around her. Esmeralda's joy extended beyond her family life. She developed a passion for soccer, playing alongside her husband and his team, but it was the simple moments—taking her children to the park, attending family events, and guiding them in their Catholic faith—that brought her the greatest happiness. She was a dedicated mother and wife, always putting her loved ones first and filling their lives with warmth and care. Esmeralda is survived by her husband, Geronimo Otero Simon, her parents Aurelia Herrera Torres and Salvador Sotero Domingo, her siblings, uncles, and her three beloved children: Vanesa, Alan, and Alison. She will also be dearly missed by her cherished pets, Lucas their dog and Chicharito, the cockatoo who brought her moments of joy during her final days. Esmeralda's legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will forever be remembered for her kindness, her radiant spirit, and her deep love for her family. May she rest in peace. A visitation will be held on from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Ryan Funeral Home, Verona Chapel, 220 Enterprise Drive. Visitation will also be held from 4-5 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at the Ryan Funeral Home, with a funeral service beginning at 5:00 p.m. _________________________________________ Con profunda tristeza anunciamos el fallecimiento de Esmeralda Sotero Herrera, quien partió pacíficamente de este mundo en su hogar el 6 de abril del 2025, a la edad de 33 años. Nacida en México, Esmeralda llegó a Madison, Wisconsin, donde conoció al amor de su vida, Gerónimo Otero Simón, en el 2013. Su amor floreció y el 12 de octubre del 2015 se casaron, marcando el comienzo de una hermosa familia. Esmeralda fue la orgullosa madre de tres hermosos hijos: Vanesa, Alan y Alison. Dedicó todo su corazón al cuidado de su familia, y su amor se reflejaba en todo lo que hacía, especialmente en la cocina. Esmeralda era conocida por su deliciosa cocina, siendo su pozole un platillo predilecto que preparaba para demostrar su amor y devoción a quienes la rodeaban. También la extrañarán profundamente sus queridas mascotas, su perro Lucas y Chicharito, la cacatúa que le brindó momentos de alegría en sus últimos días.
