William Washa

HIGHLAND - William "Willie" Harold Washa, age 64, passed away surrounded by friends and family on Wednesday, September 9, 2015. Willie was born on February 12, 1951 in Castle Rock Township to Harold and Dorothy (Daggett) Washa. He grew up in Castle Rock and later graduated from Iowa-Grant High School in 1969. After school he traveled to Europe and later moved to Kenai, Alaska, where he lived for 10 years. Willie moved back to Wisconsin in 1986 to be closer to family. Willie worked in the construction industry his entire life and enjoyed building a variety of things. He loved cooking, fishing, hunting morels, and spending time with friends and family. Willie was a loving father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Willie is survived by his daughter, Amy (Nick) Olsen; granddaughter, Harper Olsen of Verona; siblings, Kathy Bell of Sun Prairie, Joe (Deb) of Dodgeville, and Paul of Rockford, IL; nephew, Dave of Madison and a very special friend, Gary Haugh. Further survived by many other family and close friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 220 Enterprise Drive, Verona. A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
