Lawrence Riechers

Lawrence Justus Riechers died unexpectedly on Monday, September 28, 2015. Larry was born September 25, 1951, to Guerdon and Ann Marie (Hoppenjan) Riechers, and grew up on a farm near Montfort, Wisconsin. He was always a farm boy at heart. He graduated from Iowa-Grant High School, and attended college in Whitewater and LaCrosse. Larry married his high school sweetheart, Jeanette Miller, in 1970. For the past 30 years he was owner of Professional Dairy Services in Waunakee. He loved being involved in agriculture, and enjoyed working with customers across the state. He and Jeanette also were retailers in Madison, and he took pride in the stores that they ran together. Larry will be remembered for his good humor, his smile, and his love of family. His idea of a good time was spending time with family, friends or even strangers, telling stories and jokes, and playing poker or euchre. His idea of a great time was doing two or more of those things at the same time. The great joys of Larry’s life were his bride, Jeanette, his children, David and Michael, and his new daughter-in-law, Samantha. Larry was preceded in death by his infant son, Lawrence, his parents, Jeanette’s sister, Sharon Calhoun, a nephew, Casey Rotramel, and a great-niece, Tyler Lenzi. He is survived by his wife, sons and his mother-in-law, Doris Miller, of Boscobel. He is also survived by siblings John (Dianne) of Eau Claire, Ruth Mathe of Middleton, Ben (Katie) of Andover, MN, Ron (Teresa) of Sun Prairie, and Beth (Tom) Kersten of Long Grove, IL, and his in-laws: Carolyn Miller of Boscobel, Barbara (J.D.) of Billings, MT, Ruth (Bill) Rotramel of Stitzer, Chuck (Cindy) Miller of Wausau, Marla (Harry) Heisz, of Gays Mills, Yvonne Miller of Madison, Lon Calhoun, Mt. Horeb, and Christine Miller of Boscobel and a loving group of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Ave., Madison. A visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, October 2 at the funeral home, and again on Saturday from 9:30 am until the time of service. Burial will be at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, at St. John’s Nepomuc Catholic Cemetery in Muscoda, WI.
