Obituary
Madison - Marjorie L. Stern passed away at her home from natural causes on Monday, Oct. 19, 2015. Born Jan. 15 1930 in Marshfield, WI the daughter of Dorothy & Raymond Lang and grew up with step-father Oscar Schwarz.
Marjorie's early years were spent in West Allis and Milwaukee where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Donald Stern in 1950. Living in Racine until 1960, the family moved to the Spring Harbor neighborhood in Madison. She was the loving mother of Jeffry, Gary (Jan), Barb (John) Klinzing and Karin (Bob) Hoeg. When her kids were old enough the next 20 years were spent with Madison Public Schools as an aide caring for children with special needs.
Marj, most of all loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed time with friends, had a green thumb, an avid reader and was always assembling jig saw puzzles. She was an active member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oregon.
Those who will dearly miss her include her children, brother John (Sharon) Lang, sister Jean Whittow, grandchildren Johnny, Bob, Kayla, Casey, Sara, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald, brother Jim (Jane) Lang and brother-in-law George Whittow.
A private family service was held Oct. 21 with plans for a celebration of life to be announced and held at a future date.
As for any memorial to Marjorie, we suggest the Dane County Humane Society.
