Alice Hollman

DeForest – Alice E. Hollman, age 86, went home to the Lord on Sunday, November 1st, 2015 following a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Alice was born on March 4, 1929 in Portage, WI to George and Hazel (Irene) Paske. On September 19, 1947, she was united in marriage with Gaylord at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Portage.
Alice worked as a dental assistant for 27 years and was the President of the Wisconsin State Dental Assistants for three years. During her lifetime, Alice was an avid square dancer, a leader for the DeForest Handy Helpers 4-H Club, the coordinator/manager for the DeForest Community Center, a treasurer for the Dane County Homemakers Organization where she received the Homemaker of the Year Award, and was on the Board for the Chamber of Commerce, the Market Square Committee, and the Rotary Club for DeForest. Alice also served on the American Cancer Society DeForest Jail & Bail for three years. During her retirement, she worked as a Coffee Bar Hostess at Kwik Trip in Windsor.
Surviving are her four children Lois (Frank) Harvey of Oakland, FL, Gary (Sue) Hollman of Sturgeon Bay, WI, Harold (Laura) Hollman of Red Lodge, MT, Pam (John) Schmidt of Oakland, FL; four grandchildren: Gerald Hollman of Sturgeon Bay, WI, Justin (Lisa) Hollman of Madison, WI; Aaron (Katie) Schmidt of Clermont, FL, Michele (Marc) Young of Winter Garden, FL; two great granddaughters; and her brother John (Kay) Paske of Sun Prairie, WI.
Preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister Inez, brothers George and Bill; and daughter-in-law Karin Hollman.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 6924 Lake Road, DeForest. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service on Thursday at Zion Cemetery in the Town of Leeds, WI.
